Somebody parked Mayor’s car towed from City Hall

Somebody parked in the spot label Mayor at Stockton City Hall on 21-09-13 and had his car towed. Turns out that somebody was Mayor Anthony Silva.

The towing happened around the time Stockton City Council woman Dyane Burgos was to wed fiancĂ© Gustavo Medina on the steps of City Hall - where they met while both serve internships.

I was just informed that while I am here with my son on a mini trip for his birthday presents that my car was towed from the front of City Hall. It seems that a City Council Member is having a wedding. But my car was parked in the spot that says MAYOR...

I want her to have a good wedding. Everybody deserves to have memories that last a lifetime on their wedding. But someone just should have called me, which is all. They know that it is my car.On Sunday, the mayor posted he'd received a details.

Last night I was contacted by two individuals who work for the City. It was told to be that the incident that happened at City Hall was nothing more than a simple mistake and unlucky error ... So I want to make it clear that I accept that this was an accident ... Blame is not to be placed on any staff member, council member.

The 15th Annual Tow Show in Hamilton

The15th Annual Tow Show took place at the Careport Centre in Hamilton, Ont., over the weekend, and it looks like it may have been the biggest to date. The Tow Show was controlled and presented by the Provincial Towing Association of Ontario.

The PTAO was asked attendees for a donation to McMaster Children’s Fund in lieu of charging admission, so exact numbers are hard to conclude. Estimates place the total audience at over 1,500 people.

Radio advertising promoting the Tow Show aired on local radio stations in the run-up to this year’s event. Although trade shows are mainly for Towing industry, the PTAO decided to invite the public in this year.

It was a rare chance for the professional Towing and recovery industry to show members of the public their newest equipment and dedication to safety, customer service and training.

BMW found submerged in Connecticut River

A BMW X3, reported stolen from Worcester in February and recovered Monday from the Connecticut River at Riverfront Park, had little inside save for mud, police said.

That and a couple of salamanders, according to a worker from Red’s Towing in West Springfield, which fish out the fairly battered vehicle over the course of a several-some hour operation.

City and environmental police were summoned to the river mid-morning for a report of a inundated vehicle a short space away from the park steps that lead down to the water.

A pair of environmental police divers used large air bags to get the SUV within reach of Red’s heavy tools, which in turn hauled it onto a waiting flatbed.

A small crowd gathers to watch the recovery. It’s wonderful, said former North Carolina resident Charles Brashear, a now a city resident.

A similar incident occurred in April of 2012 when a stolen car was improved from the river. Emergency personnel, talking at the scene of that 2012 recovery, said it was likely that the car was dumped someplace up river and was carried down by the present.

Vehicles parking in traffic lane to be impounded

In accordance with the recently issued Ulaanbaatar City Governor order A/769, any vehicle parked in the right hand traffic lane of roads and in prohibited areas, will be towed and impounded to reduce traffic blocking. The towing will be implemented based on Decree 94, issued in 2005 by the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs.

To ensure proper implementation of the new measure, the Traffic monitor Center has purchase 12 Tow Trucks Service from the Ulaanbaatar City Fund.

Traffic accidents occur because of illegal parking, as well as vehicles driving too close to all other on city streets. The vehicles will be towed to a secure impound lot.

Enforcement of parking rules is expected to enhance traffic safety, reduce congestion and raise alertness for existing traffic rules.
