The Freeway Emergency Service

The Hawai`i State Department of Transportation is proud to at hand the Freeway Service Patrol, a proven traffic blockage relief program that saves vehicles time and money. And it’s free! Given that emergency roadside service keeps on the ways clear and prevent traffic from support up and causing longer commute times, especially during peak rush hours. Less time on the road also means savings on fuel costs and reduced emissions.

Towing Services

If your vehicle is not able to start, Freeway Service Patrol drivers may well tow your vehicle free of charge to an off-freeway place or out of the lane of traffic. FSP is not permitted to tow your vehicle to your home or to a repair shop. Their sole purpose is to help vehicles with stalled vehicles on the freeway, so the Freeway Service Patrol drivers have to return to the freeway as soon as probable.

Once you have been tow to a safe location, you contact the towing company of your choice or your insurance company .Freeway Service Patrol drivers are proscribed from making recommendation for towing companies. The Honolulu Police Department may also help you in contacting a zone tow service company. FSP drivers are not allowed to accept any payment, including tips, from motorists.

Service Area

The Freeway Service Patrol covers a total of roughly 24 miles of freeway in both directions, including a 15.7-mile stretch along the H-1 Freeway from Kunia Road to University Road, a 4.8-mile stretch along the H-201 Moanalua Freeway, and 2.1 miles of the H-2 Freeway from the H-1/H-2 trade off to Ka Uka Boulevard.
