Vehicles parking in traffic lane to be impounded

In accordance with the recently issued Ulaanbaatar City Governor order A/769, any vehicle parked in the right hand traffic lane of roads and in prohibited areas, will be towed and impounded to reduce traffic blocking. The towing will be implemented based on Decree 94, issued in 2005 by the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs.

To ensure proper implementation of the new measure, the Traffic monitor Center has purchase 12 Tow Trucks Service from the Ulaanbaatar City Fund.

Traffic accidents occur because of illegal parking, as well as vehicles driving too close to all other on city streets. The vehicles will be towed to a secure impound lot.

Enforcement of parking rules is expected to enhance traffic safety, reduce congestion and raise alertness for existing traffic rules.
