Towing companies benefit from chill weather conditions

While the winter weather can make for unsafe driving, it also means big business for some towing companies, such as towing businesses, which are seeing more work this season than entire years in recent history.

The team at Express Towing and Recovery spent Saturday morning, January 25th dragging cars out of ditch and towing vehicles from accident scenes.

The roads were terrible. Even the other storms we have had, this morning, for some reason, even the tow trucks, we could not stop, said owner Jim Welland. We most likely made more in the last 2 months that we did all year for the last 3 or 4 winters.

Conditions in Waukesha County Saturday morning resulted in Twenty five vehicles in ditches, 13 accidents resulting in property damage and 9 injuries.

All of which was a result of just not giving sufficient distance between the vehicles, not taking your time, speed too high due to the weather, said Lt. Anthony Kasta with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

  1. This is such a great post. I've never even thought about towing companies, and how useful they would be during a big winter storm. I've always imagined towing companies with their big truck towing away cars that aren't supposed to park in special spaces or in a parking lot without a parking pass. But it makes so much more sense that they tow away cars that have gotten stuck in the snow, or in a car accident from the ice and storms.

  2. I really enjoyed reading this post! I've been looking around for a job, and I found a towing company in Longmont CO that seems like a great place to work. The only problem is though, I have no idea what to expect or what they would be looking for. So I've been doing some research on it, and so far this and http://www.marvsqualitytowing.com/services.php have been the most helpful. I hope I can get a job doing this. It looks way fun! Thanks so much for sharing this!

  3. Owning custom vehicles can be a very rewarding hobby, but it also comes at the cost of quite a bit of inconvenience. Due to their custom nature, many of these vehicles are not eligible for registration. Due to this, they cannot be driven on public roads. This presents the owners of these vehicles with a real dilemma when it comes time to move them. Luckily, there are a number of companies who specialist in moving such vehicles, taking the stress and hassle out of this process.
