BoatUS marks towing landmark

BoatUS made its half-millionth dispatch this month to member Caron Collins and her husband, William, after their 28-foot cruiser had engine trouble early on in the morning about a football pasture away from their home dock at Charlotte Harbor, Fla.

To party the milestone, BoatUS is giving the Collinses a $500 West Marine gift card, a Delmore in Reach personal satellite communicator and 5 years of BoatUS Unlimited Gold on-the-water towing with Trailer Assist Roadside Assistance Tow BoatUS Charlotte Harbor brought the team in safety back to their dock.

After they paid $350 out of pocket for a short tow in 1996, the Collins family became BoatUS members and added an annual "unlimited" Tow BoatUS towing plan. Anyone who has a boat

should have Tow BoatUS, William Collins said in a statement.

In 2012 alone, BoatUS 3 dispatch centers and towing fleet received 70,000 requests for on-the-water and on-the-24 roadside assistance.
